Cutchogue East Students Graduate from D.A.R.E. Program
Cutchogue East fifth grade students recently graduated from the D.A.R.E. Program, under the direction of School Resource and Southold police officers Alex Chenche and Greg Sanders. The students were each awarded a certificate of completion and a commemorative T-shirt and will also receive a k-9 presentation with the Southold Police Department this coming spring.
The Drug Abuse Resistance Education Program is a 10-week classroom program in which school resource officers discuss the problems of drug and alcohol use, as well as peer pressure and conflict resolution. Students then demonstrate what they have learned by creating individual posters.
The District congratulates the students on this outstanding accomplishment and thanks the Southold Police Department for their invaluable work with the students.
