  • Freshman Trip to LongHouse Reserve

  • Sophomores Take the PSAT

  • Juniors Take the PSAT

  • Seniors Participate in a Day of Service

Mattituck High School is pleased to offer the PSAT exam to all sophomores and juniors. Exams will take place during the school day on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. There is no fee this year for the exam.

Students who wish to take the exam must sign up by October 7th using the Google form shared in letters/emails home and class presentations in September. Students not signed up by October 7th and not taking the exam should not attend school on October 15th.

The exam will begin at 7:45 am with dismissal for sophomores and juniors at approximately 11:00 am with regular bus runs (dismissal may be later for students who receive accommodations). Any student taking the exam must bring a fully charged Chromebook and have a Collegeboard Account in order to test.

Also, on October 15, our freshman will be taking a one-day field trip to LongHouse Reserve. Additional information and permission slips for this trip have already been sent home.

While our grades 9-11 students are engaged in their assigned activities, our seniors will have the opportunity to participate in a supervised service project at one of several local organizations.  In the next week, students will be informed about the available organizations and opportunities and then be able to decide where they would like to participate.  All of these projects will be supervised by a faculty member and are designed to support our students in giving back to their community while learning about different organizations on the East End that help to make our community a better place.  The seniors will begin the day at MHS where they will participate in workshops presented by the Southold Town Police Dept.  From there, they will head to their designated service learning sites.  More information and permission slips were posted on parent square.

Wednesday, October 15 will be a regular school day for both 7th and 8th grade students.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
