Welcoming New National Honor Society Members
Mattituck Junior-Senior High School recently hosted their annual Honor Society Induction Ceremony, including 49 new members. The students invited Mrs. Anne Gilvarry (English teacher) to be the guest speaker at the ceremony.
In his address to inductees, Honor Society President Jay Chen welcomed students to the chapter, which began in 1950. Mr. Chen emphasized the importance of the society’s four pillars: leadership, service, scholarship, and character.
The National Honor Society induction is more than just a ceremony—it is a celebration of dedication, character, and the promise of future leadership. For the students inducted, it marks the beginning of a new chapter, one defined not only by achievement, but by the responsibility to lead and serve others with integrity and continue this long Mattituck tradition.
